I could not find anything in the parts x-ref, but does somebody know a standard part number for the front wheel bearing inner seals? I should be able to pick those up locally here in queens this week. Either a napa or a Chicago Rawhide number or something like that. Thanks!

I'm showing several "Front Wheel Seals" listed in the X-Ref that show 51-56.

You're right Kev, there were multiple numbers so it is a little confusing. My local "old school" parts guy couldn't find anything with the national 5759 nkmber, but the napa 17145 he was able to find. I have 2 of those on the way. Suitcase filling up with small parts.

I picked up two Timken 5836 seals. They look correct, but I will know for sure when I install them. If they fit, we can add it to the parts xref.

Lots of other things (Life I guess) keeping me from too much packard time for me, but some things I can delegate that get done. I had the new rear wheel bearings pressed onto the axles and can start assembling that back together someday. I also had the drum backing plates powdercoated in a nice black semi-gloss. They look lovely, and I will be happy installing them. One little detail that delighted me was that you can see a stamp from the company Bendix that made the brakes. Is that a "4" on the emblem that means something? four wheel brakes?
Anyway, thought I would post a picture of that for your viewing pleasure

Pretty sure it a reference to the Bendix drum brake type. In the.prewar years there references to Type 2 and Type 3 style Bendix brakes. It's the change in technology I think. 3 shoe vs 2 shoe, self-actuating vs non, etc.
