I am trying to determine the original color of a 1941 that I am restoring. I know the interior was red leather and the rims are red as well but I cannot determine if the original paint color is a powder blue or a beige. I have enclosed two pics. I believe the powder blue on the steering wheel and the dash vent is a base coat primer and not the final color.

I have a firewall number 583175. I have also attached two pics of the motor number.

Thanks for your help.
Gar

If the red on the wheels is original (Cinnabar Red), that would suggest the body color was Saratoga Beige. Paint scheme "T".

The number on the engine is simply the casting number, not the engine number but even it it were there are likely no records with the type of detail you need. You’ll have to do some forensic studies to determine the colors although someone here my be able to offer an educated guess.

The 41 motor number is stamped on the block just below the head and depending on engine will be positioned slightly to the left or right of the distributor.

Except for a foundry casting date, any of the numbers cast directly into the metal on a block or head are generally, with maybe a couple of exceptions, not much help in identifying anything. The same casting might be machined differently for use in different engines or models and each was given a new official part number after machining.
