Does anyone remember a gentleman named Paul who lived in Las Vegas and owned a 1956 custom Clipper that was black in color and had a Turquoise and White interior and a Caribbean hood? does anyone have pictures of this car could they post them?

I believe this is the car you mean. I don't quickly find any other photos on this site and doubt if there are many more still around unless someone managed to save them on their computer or they wound up in an internet archive somewhere. The car was well covered and several photos were available on Craig Hendricson's 56 Panther website but when Craig died his site eventually went away.

Paul had done some extensive and unique mods. A few that come to mind were a trunk AC with some modified but custom looking vents, hydraulic power brakes that I believe had a crankshaft operated pump with the unit mounted under the car and a standard shift overdrive transmission that was operated by push buttons. I think I remember the trans was operated by custom actuators controlled by the PBs and the shifting was done via air pressure. .

No idea if Paul is still around but as the other thread mentions, after the car was wrecked he had no desire to rebuild it.

That car was apparently an Packard Executive, not a Clipper.

It was an executive with carribean trim.

I know it was wrecked at one time when some young lady in a modern econobox ran into him, but then it was fixed. Last I saw or heard anything from Paul was over a decade ago, prior to Craig's passing.

Pauls car was a Warren Ohio meet one time as I remember not sure if I have photos of it. A lot of hard and nicely done modifications

Thanks humanpotatohybrid that is indeed the car. I must admit the modifications he did to that car are stunning! I will definitely print them all up so I have them. The reason I was so interesting in this car was the air-conditioning setup. You see I own a 1955 Packard 400 it has every option but air-and I want air so when i saw the photo of the package shelf and the three vents for the trunk mounted evaporator I looked everywhere for those vents-couldn't find them. Finally I touched base with Paul and asked him where he got them-off a 1963 Chrysler Imperial! so after talking with him for a good long while and he was a pleasure to chat with I went on ebay and low and behold there were the three vents! At first I thought they were plastic but in fact they were metal-i plan to have them chromed like his were when I eventually finish the car.

The factory air would, of course, be in the dash but there were any different aftermarket units installed in the trunk so the car in question has just one example.
