This came out of a car that sat 4-5 years. Usually when I drain bad gas its brown but maybe its green because of ethanol in it.

Someone here in the past posted about finding green gas. Not sure what the eventual cause/resolution was.
Perhaps the tank was filled on St. Patty's Day! 🍀

Perhaps if the float has sunk to the bottom of the tank AND there is a large accumulation of water in the tank from using E10 and having the alcohol/water come out of solution from excessive condensation, then it would corrode the float green and stain the gas.

That looks like dye to me. Could it be some kind of additive product?

My dad and i drove the car to Gettysburg Pa the last time the car was driven this was a 2 hour drive from where i live. I parked the car with a full tank of fuel in a storage area i have and just didnt get back to it till now. I stuck a fresh battery in it and it started and ran i drove it about 10 miles and parked it. The next time i went to start it a week or so later 1 of the valves was stuck so I drained the tank. This is what i found. The tank was new about 8 to 10 years ago. I didnt use an additive just thought it was really strange for the gas to be green.

Kev, your memory doesn't deceive you. The combination of copper, condensed water and time turns the fuel green. Please click -> here to read the full story.
