Thanks to all. Especially the pics from Kevin, looks just like the clips I made. So now I have a couple options on the attachment of clip to bezel. I will let all know how and what I did. I do appreciate the help.

Twist rivet AKA screw nail. We use these at work to attach serial plates to housings but I wouldn't use them here since they could blow out the bosses. Better to tap for a machine screw. Edit: then coincidentally I go and watch this video that demonstrates a typical use of these! Start at 17:00.

Ah, TechMoan, my favorite quasi-technical site! I love his videos but unfortunately after a recent OS upgrade, I have no audio, or rather it's garbled, so i can't enjoy videos on the PC.

Appreciate all the thoughts on bezel clips, here was my solution. A bit of a mix of all of the above. Ground the head of a small screw to fit size to size of hole in boss, with some tapping. Packed the hole with JB weld and put screw int and tapped until bottom. Leaned up the ooze and placed washer over hole. Ground remnants of old clip attachment to be level with washer. Cut screw off and installed nut. So we will see.

Looks like it will work just fine John. The JB Weld I used has held up great, even carefully taking the bezel on and off a few times. But yours is certainly more secure with the screw you added.
