That large throttle linkage plate made me wonder about that. A little. I may find more evidence when I get around to exploring the overdrive malfunction. Sticky valve first.

If you're not having fun, maybe it's your own damned fault.

I have bits and pieces of both prewar and postwar Electromatic and even once had the missing valve assembly but I think it’s been long sold.

I have the electromatic pieces from the first 6-banger coupe I bought. It seemed (what do I know?) to be complete. I have one or two others to use/serve as patterns. The coupe will become an eight and a five-speed in all likelihood, so it won't get used there, and it can donate its o/d trans to the Deluxe which hasn't got one, if I don't use the R-11.

This super will probably not get any add-ons.

Good news is, apparently the engine was rebuilt at some point in the not-too-distant past.

Collect-A-Collector-Car road trip on Tuesday. Hitting the road early to try to avoid as much Northeast traffic at problem times as possible.

This car hasn't got whiskers. I don't mind, as I'm not a fan.

Were they optional, or was a delete optional?

Super Fred is home. More pictures later. Investigations will begin soon to determine just what Wat has got here.

Thank you!!! Not meaning to nitpick a compliment, but the paint job is a 20-footer out of bright sunlight. Underwhelming to say the least. There's a manageable sized dent in the driver's front fender (all my 127" wb cars have bad driver's fenders), and there doesn't seem to be much rust. The A-pillar floors are okay, and when I get the crap out of the trunk, I can see how that floor is, but what I can see seems sounds. It may have spent the bulk of its life garaged, which would be a plus.

I did some standing-and-staring underneath the hood. It seems that the brake lines have been replaced, maybe with s/s. The seller says that the distributor was rebuilt, and he changed the water pump. I wonder what front end bolts he didn't re-install.

The hood closes and locks with less effort than I have ever encountered with that arrangement. The locking arms move easily and there's none of that metal-on-metal noise like on all my others. Also, the doors work very easily.
