Hello all, I am scheduled to attend a Packard Automobile Club of Australia Tour of the Barossa Valley, South Australia in March/April 2025. I would like to fit an Original Packard Trunk accessory onto my 1938 1608 Twelve to carry a few more items out of the cabin. I am wanting to install the tilting mechanism to allow access to the boot whilst having a trunk accessory. Any thoughts? I am happy to fabricate this item if no used ( or dare I dream NOS) item is available. I am happy to pay more than a reasonable price ( reasonable is a starting point of course) ) for the item. There are numerous clever fellows on info.com Please advise. Best Regards Peter Toet

Peter, are you looking for the one were trunk tips rearward, or one similar to the junior cars where the trunk tips to the side?

I've been trying to get the drawings for the side flip style from Bruce Blevins.

I suppose it would be more logical to try to replicate a Senior style rearward tilt mechanism. If anyone has one fitted to their vehicle a picture is truly worth a thousand words.

Gunther Hoyt in VA had the rearward tilt hardware package for the senior car trunk racks reproduced some years back. Be may still have it available. Contact info in the CCCA and PAC directories.

Also, I am sure Bruce Blevins could come up with the blue prints if you can tell him the relevant part numbers.

Werner Neil, in North Carolina, has a couple of sets. He got them from me. Last time I talked to him, he still had them for sale.
