At first I couldn't get the load leveler to budge under load. So I dropped the engine back down, and then sprayed the screw, the ends and traveler with some spray dry lube and then it was smooth as butter under load.
The Jag motor is about 600-650lbs and figure another 50lbs or so for the transmission. So the 2 ton lift was no problem on the 1 ton setting. I was able to pull the motor with car in the garage and the door closed. I must say I can move the car around on the skates with very little effort. The jag motor is supposed to have two engine lifting brackets that are built-in and bridge across cam valley between two head bolts, both in the front and the back. So ordered a set ($11 each) so when the motor is reassembled by Russel, he can install them. Then I won't have to disturb the head nuts to lift the motor back into the car. Even if I had a set, one of the head nuts I would need to use is seized onto stud and it was twisting the stud out of the block, and that stud is corroded to the point where it won't pull the rest of the way out through the head. So I ended up using scrap heavyduty steel strapping and made a quick L bracket to use on one head nuts, and another piece bent in a U shape across two head nuts towards the rear. These are what the correct brackets look like:

Front engine shipping cradle built. Need to still build the rear one. Then I cut the pallet length down and enclosed it.

All the bracing is in and the engine is fully off the lift and on the pallet, which I've cut down to standard pallet size.

I still have to buy the sheeting this afternoon to finish enclosing the engine crate, but the trucking company is scheduled to pick it up at my house on Thursday afternoon. Based on shipping ETA, it will reach Longview, TX, on Monday or Tuesday.
I'll send it down with all the spare gasket sets and other miscellaneous engine parts to hopefully reduce the costs of any needed parts.
