Yesterday was the last warmish day so I pushed other projects out of the way and got all of my black sprayed.
   Will do some assembly tomorrow.

Really coming along! Do you have an interior ready for it? I assume the front seat will be either my 55 Panama one I gave you or from your 400? Are you going to have to make door cards from scratch?

Enjoy this ad from the Charleston Daily Mail of Sept 6 1954. This dealer was having some fun with his used cars, especially the '47 at the bottom right. Which one would you prefer to have?

Amazingly, that's still an asking price of $2200 today.
Through some stories, I figure the actual value of a car like that would have been around $35, same as like $400 today. Also worth nothing that any dealer with a sense of embarrassment would send a car like that to auction nowadays, not sell it on their lot...

I think car dealers today send "marginal" cars to auction or scrap to avoid liability issues and refurbishment costs and issues related to emissions non compliance. It makes getting a cheap car more expensive for low income persons.
