My ears perked up at the sound of "NOS or restored 1940 front shock."

The shocks in my 110 are original They resemble the hull of the Titanic....

I have some good used cores at my Oregon shop but I have not yet checked out the one just found today. Once I do, I'll drop a PM. I have quite a few bits and pieces for 1940 110s as I owned three of them, two of which were parts cars.

Sounds good. Depending on how my Zags do in the tournament, I may be pulling the engine this weekend, and then disassembling the suspension.

Does anyone have some good clear photos if a factory accessory sun visor? I found one but what to be sure it’s the right one even though it is on a 1954 Patrician.

Skim through my 54 blog. I had one, but didn't like what it looked like car, so never installed it. It was a factory visor with the top and side brackets. It was specific to 53/54 sedans only. Other years, and non-sedans are different.

Thank you, Kev! It took a while to find it (around page 145 for future reference) and I see that you went pretty far into getting it ready to install! There were no photos of the end brackets that I could find but comparing the one I found to the accessory manual, it does appear to be an original. Yes, the hardtops had a different one and, with the rounded windshield corners of 1951-1952 sedans, it was different yet for those years.

Here’s the one from the manual . . .

It was also the required eight holes that need to drilled that gave me pause. Two on each side, and four into the roof for the center bracket.

Good Morning...The Visor on our 1949 Deluxe is by Charles Packet and includes a U.S. Paton Number. It clamps on to the drip rail on both sides and uses a clamp to the center post in the center. You can see it quite clearly in the 23rd series in the Vehicle Register...Ernie in Arizona

Dad had one of the factory visors on his newly bought 51 300 and young as I was at the time (6 or 7) I still remember the fussing, fuming and an actual swear word or two a few of the times he drove in Albuquerque traffic. At that time the city had mostly overhead traffic lights on all the main drags so it took a lot of effort to keep bending down to look under the visor and see the light. He finally got one of the prisms which seemed to help the situation. They don't show in the 51 accessory folder so no idea if his was a factory item or something from Western Auto.

For my If you are planning on driving on similarly equipped streets and decide to buy the visor you might save yourself some aggravation and start looking for one of the factory prisms to install with the visor. Here is what the V8 version looks like.
