Help Identify a Packard

Attached is a cropped picture of a Packard inside the Gardner Garage and Motor Co. in Rockville Centre L.I. NY. I am trying to date this picture; my Grandfather worked here and is shown outside of the building in the full picture (not attached). Hopefully knowledgeable prewar Packard folks can determine within a couple of years the year of the pictured Packard.

I know that the detail is not good due to the car being behind the glass, but this is the best that I have. I do know that Gardner started selling Packards sometime around 1928.

Any help would be much appreciated!

1934. Eight (1100-01-02). Car pictured is an 1101.

Major visual clues for 1934 are the gas tank filler in the rear taillight and the skirt and crown of the front fender. Size of front bumper end cap identifies it as an Eight.

You might also take note of the metal-plated inner tube valve stem covers, 1934 was the last year for their useage.

Rlark,
That is a great picture! My Six shows as being delivered to a New York dealership in '39. I wonder if that might have been the selling dealer. A Six would have never made the showroom floor, but it could have been in the 'lot line-up' of new Packards there perhaps? Chris.

Yes, the one that the arrow is pointing to.

So we know that this is most likely taken in 1934. I've been communicating with the Historical Society in Rockville Centre regarding information about the owner of the dealership, and whether they might have pictures of the dealership. I have found a map of sorts that shows the dealership building from a plan view. It was a huge building; don't know if it is still standing or not, but hopefully will find that out.
