I have been trying to find an exploded view pic of this for my 4dr sedan to no avail.
I think there may be a spring under the lock cylinder that is missing...
Can anyone here provide it please?

I know of no such diagram and going from long past memories, I don’t recall a spring in the handle under the lock. Of course, my memories are from the ‘60s when I took mine apart to re-key it. The closest I have to look at now is one from a 1940 but it’s a totally different design although I can’t imagine the lock mechanism being much different.

I doubt one exists except if you were to get a copy of the factory drawing. Or convince someone to disassemble theirs.

Well, it's 600+ miles away at my shop but I can try when I'm next there if I can get the lock tumbler out. I only just returned from three weeks there a few days after your original post so won't be going back for a couple months.

Thanks very much for the replies!
All I have for the lock cylinder is these 3 parts.
The cupped washer OD is the exact same as the lock cylinder, I am thinking if there was a little spring between the washer and the 'engagement plate', it would hold the engagement plate against the lock cylinder.
It just seems like there is something missing...

I bought a cylinder that I tried to re-key and messed up so bought a replacement with key. If anyone has tips for getting the cylinder out (not off the lid) I wouldn't mind hearing it. I half tried and maybe I was being too cautious but abandoned it.

The cylinder comes out by inserting the key and turning they inserting a paperclip into the little notch, and then turning a little more. This releases the cylinder from the bore.

If you don't have a working keys, then a locksmith may need to pick it for you. Otherwise, you'll have to drill the cylinder out.
