Good idea Howard. My concern is that I don't think I can really access behind that. I'll have to take a closer look.

I actually have a whole spare 400 door 😅 but I REALLY don't want to have to get it painted to match 😬

The good thing about a riv-nut is that it's perfect for a blind hole as access to the backside is not required.

On Bolt Depot i noticed tonight while I was order some slotted screws that are not available locally, they carry low profile riv-nuts that sit very flat on the outside surface. They have a thinner outter ledge.

I could use one of those on the rear tailpipe hanger of my 1951 Henney-Packard that seems to have stripped threads and no backside access. I had forgotten all about their existence!
