I picked the dark blue for my 1951 Henney-Packard combination from a Napa chart that had several pages of different blue samples. It was an easy and relatively inexpensive way to go.

We are leaning towards this green, that was out the radiator surround I bought at Hershey. Now this surround has been painted at least 3 times before. Packard Cream, Coachman Green, and this green. I cleaned up an area with some cleaner wax.

I took it in to the local jobber to see what their paint scanner would come up with and the metallic is so fine in this paint, the scanner kept reporting it as a non-metallic color. The shop is only onpen for couple of hours on Sat, and every weekend warrior was in there trying to buy stuff, so I told the guy did come back during the week when he had more time. He said we would probably have to go through the modern chip books until we find a good match that isn't too metallic, or find a very close solid that a fine metallic powder can be added to. But he was keen to crack it.

In other news, I managed to get 2 coats of epoxy and a couple coats of high build primer on the rumble seat and trunk lids.

Body work on the trunk lid and rumbleseat lid is done, so I shot a coat of epoxy over it to act as a temporary sealer until the car gets color coat next fall.

Looks good! And the green is going to be nice. The color on the radiator shell is very attractive.

You might look at Chrysler PG8 - Forest Green Clearcoat. My Packard is painted this color and is a finer metallic. Might be a little dark, but could be a starting point.
