The '53 Clipper wheels will bolt right on your '56. The are both a 5 on 5" pattern.

The confusion starts with some '54 and all '55 and '56 Clipper wheels as they are a 5 on 4 1/2" pattern.

You will likely be astounded how a set of even cheap radials will transform your '56.

Hopefully, as that's what I'm putting on my 55 Deluxe. 😁

What's your thoughts on radial vs. bias ply with regards to ease of steering? I inflate my radials to between 0 and 5 under max sidewall pressure. The ones on my Deluxe are AT sidewall pressure right now, might bleed them a bit once the weight of the car is on them. At some point I expect to do a contact patch test and adjust the air pressure accordingly.

That's good to know, thanks Ross. Now I just need to find time to make the switch.

Then do some test driving then order some Diamond Backs. Need to clean up and paint the wheels too.
