I do not understand the « logic » that leads to an interior like the 37 12’s

Can you though? The 41's tend to be worth more than the V8's and that would be a decent ask even for a comparable V8.

Speaking of things being worth more than V8's....how about this one? 1955 Patrician, abandoned project. Body appears straight, can't see any major rust from the pictures. But it is in Portland, so maybe there's more rust than it seems. Interior is gone. Motor has been rebuilt, but oil pump needs to be rebuilt. Transmission is supposedly operative. I'm assuming this has the 374, but I'm not familiar enough with them to tell just by looking at the engine. Engine has been repainted in red, which is not correct. But engine bay appears to be relatively clean. Some of the chrome actually looks pretty good. Glass is good. Parts or project. Portland, OR. Asking double what I paid for Rusty McRustface at $600, but in immensely better condition. My wife would kill me if I brought another project like this home.
Also found a 1937 6 cylinder engine near me. Complete engine w/ 3 speed transmission, and a spare transmission. Looks pretty good from the outside. Only $350. Anyone need this?

I docked the value of that '41 because the sellers ask of $20K is top dollar for a prewar Junior sedan and these cars are slow sellers in today's market. My big objection to this one is the incorrect interior, but maybe I'm being too hard because it was decently done. $20K is probably a reasonable ask, but I would not want to go over about $18K and would offer less as a start. I once had a '51 200 Club Sedan and have always liked this model. Here is a picture. Owned this car for a time back in the 1990's. Unfortunately, mine was much rustier than the one now for sale. Sold it to another Packard collector and he completely restored it. Bottom photos were taken by the new owner after he completed the restoration. Not sure where the car is today.

It looks like the 55 Patrician was already sold for $600. As for the 41 for 20k, of course, you need to know the specific car to make a reasonable assessment. I don't have enough info on most cars; but when I look at random listings and am thinking to myself that the price appears a bit high, these observations are often reinforced when I see the same cars still for sale a couple of years later
