Joe, the paint color savant at the local Paint Shop was able to give me a pretty good match for the clock color.

The dial from New Zealand was very sun faded. So I used one of the spare cluster guages I had.

Since all of my gauges have some degree of fading, I didn't want the color too perfect. So I had him match it so somewhere in between the sun protected color and the part that is a bit faded on that spare gauge.

So this is PPG Shopline Enamel. He told me to spray it without adding any hardener and that should reduce the gloss. So spray it and let it dry on its own.

Last of the structural repair to left rear fender are done.

This is the point at the lower rear corner. It forms a little pocket, so collects mud. Also, it under alot of stress holds the outer shape of the fender in place.

On this fender it was completely rotted away and there is more evidence of brazing repairs in the past.

So I made a path to replace it and welded it in. From a shape standpoint and hard shape to get right. The outer skin is convex, the back portion is concave. The both have to meet and form a sharp curved crease.

One this was in place. I was able to rehang the fender and the weld the bottom where the two fanges meet. This locks in the shape of the fender as far as spread.

That’s close to the area where my passenger side rear fender needed a lot of work. It was well hidden, but when the car was stripped down, we found this piece of lead where steel should have been. That repair predated Dad owning the car.

And yes, this entire piece is nothing but lead and measures about 4in x 8 in.

Ok clock face and dial are painted. Is it perfect? God no. If is perfectly acceptable? Yes.

In think the color came out fairly well.

Thanks! Luckily, no hand painting involved here. I used a cricut vinyl printer to print stencils. All paint applied with by normal automotive spray gun.

The hardest part is getting the vinyl lined up. The dial was the worst. Trying to apply a flat stencil to a concave surface.
