Tom
I think your decision to change the color of the top to black was a great one. It looks super that way.

West,
Thanks. I was hesitant at first because you know how black shows everything. I can't wait to get her running again so I can pull her outside in the Sun and see what she looks like in natural light.

My younger brother came over on Monday and we reinstalled the cylinder block and pistons. He also came back on Tuesday but before we did any work on Old Bessie we replaced the front hubs and front brakes on his Dakota Sport.
After working on his truck we cleaned up the head for Old Bessie and reinstalled it. We put some old acorn nuts back on and put a fresh coat of Hirches green paint. It is not my best but it will make do. Attach file: (40.29 KB) (39.14 KB) (36.45 KB) (37.10 KB)

Looking good Tom, visible progress is always very satisfying. And a question, the works of art on the garage wall in the first pic, will they be signed and auctioned off once the restoration's complete? Could help to offset some of the costs involved.

Ok deal. I will mail it to you with the stamps that I had forgotten I had up in the attic that my grandmother gave to me before she passed on. There are some other country of origin stamps in there also. I should check again and see if there are any from Down Under. I know there are a lot of five cent stamps in there too.
What is your mailing address

I picked up the Dashboard and other parts from the shop the other day. This is the same shop that did all the metal work for me. He did not do the wood-graining he has a lady that does it for him and it is all done by hand.
Here are a few pictures of the dash. Not the best lighting but can see her work. I very please with them and amazed the talent people have when it come to that kind of work. Now I need to have the trim pieces re-chromed and some need to be fixed. Anyone have a source on where one can but them? Attach file: (24.31 KB) (25.73 KB) (25.50 KB)
