The seniors and juniors had different fenders. The seniors had cut outs for the parking lights while the juniors lights were mounted in the grill at least in 1955. The pphysical size and general shape were the same.

Ah HA! According to the front end specs of the service manual both 55 and 56 Clippers have a front track of 59.7" while 55 and 56 Sr's have a 60" track. Probably due to wider wheels on the sr's. My Exec falls into the Clipper line.

Modern tires of "equivelent" size to oem tires seem to be alot wider than oem tires altho smaller in diameter. Maybe that contributes to the problem.

Unless you find some from someone with a parts car in Texas, freight will be a big item. If you cannot find something closer I would wager Mike Dulinski in Minnesota has enough parts cars that he could probably come up with a pair.

Depending on what all is missing such as radiator cradle and upper and lower splashers, you may also need to get several other items in order to bolt the fenders onto the frame, direct air thru the radiator, and latch the hood. There are numerous pieces to the grill also.

I remember from somewhere (don't ask me where) that the front fenders are bowed outwards slightly to provide adequate clearance for the tires when making sharp turns when bouncing up and down.
