"Nice old Packard Race Car at the Village" ?????

I found the attached photo doing a web images search using 'Packard Racing' as key words. The photographer is based in Ontario and the location is called Westfield Village. Does anybody know anything more about this car?

It looks to me like an early 30's senior chassis with a S8 engine that has been significantly lowered and moved rearward and is carrying twin downdraught carbs.

Thanks in advance for any information.

I think I have worked out part of the story as per this site:-

I would still be interested to know more about the cars history before it was reworked by the current owners.

They should call it Old Town instead of Old Timer.

I wonder how it handles without front shocks???!!!!

Does it look to anyone else like they have moved the brake cross shaft rearwards along with the driving position?

Yes, they also moved the steering box rearward. You can see the original mounting holes below the engine opening.
