well moving on....i guess nobody saw my request...or just blugh and don't want to go fish one out of the parts shed to look. no worries.
oh well. i bought a 55/56 shop manual (original, not repo) off ebay for 25 bucks. great shape supposedly. thought it would be cool to have one finally, just for nostalgia....and i never wanted to pay the high prices on ebay for one, this one was in my budget for a change so i snagged it up. motor is done...going to pick it up later today. should only be about a billion dollars LMAO! ahh good times. i'm still have not gotten the mains and the rod bearings from EGGE. probably gonna call about those soon. starting taking the carb apart....course...the top was stuck together and when i finally got it loose it flew apart and bent one of the floats.....dang! sorry those images were to big. i'm just going to rebuild it. didn't get much help, so thats what i'm going to do.
i worked on the motor some more this weekend. tried fitting the pins. the first one was really hard would not go by hand in the rod. had to press it. shavings of bronze came out. i'm worried that one is crap now. actually pretty upset. the next one went by hand fine. then the next one would not go by hand so i left it be for now till i could ask you guys. see this link for my questions also. https://packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=7745&post_id=82736#forumpost82736 bought new 12 ton press. those shavings are from the rod pin bushing. i'm sure it is screwed and i will be delayed more and have to spend more money. if you can tell me what is wrong with the first picture...you get nothing cause i have nothing. and yes i took them out before i installed the cam retaining plate. also they put in freeze plugs and i didn't ask them too, so they took that charge off. cause they put in 1 3/4 and it supposed to be 1 59/64 size plug, but i may leave them in there as it looks like they sealed them...i'm not sure. i probably should knock them out. yup you got it. i'm not sure why he thought that was for water. the fact that they put in the plugs when i never asked for any of them was beyond me, but he took the charge off.
the freeze plugs are the wrong size...per what Jack Vines says. Hank

I think I figured it out. I think the pins that are in my pistons are oversized. I have a set OEM pins and they fit perfect in the rods. But the pins thy came with the pistons don't. If I put the OEM pin in the piston I can wiggle it and it falls through very easy. If I use the pins that were with the pistons they don't wiggle and you have to push them in.
I'm gonna say the pistons/pins I bought are oversized.... And the rods not. Hank
