Concerning the picture you deleted, it wasn't a Ford Model A either having wood spoke wheels, no cowl gas tank cap and the radiator shell shape wasn't right.

It's interesting that you would use the maroon and black packard in the picture above as this is the same picture that I've been photo-shopping to experiment with different colors and features.

But notice that the top is black, while the upper body is maroon. Based on the other e-mials, shouldn't the top be maroon? Is this an "Island top" or a "formal top" and how can you tell the difference? I believe mine is the same as in the picture (whatever that is).

Also, I was planning on using the khaki color for the spare tire covers as well as the pin striping and was thinking that I could use the same color for the top. I have easy access to a real leather (the grain looks just like the Elk grain to me) has bettern stretchability than vinyl, and is only slightly more expensive. Am I violating another rule if I use a light tan leather on the top?

Frank, there is an AACA thread that will increase the confusion but I can't resist to mention it. It contains the Ditzler paint chips for 1929 Packard's including color combinations but neither hide nor hair of maroon respectively "rubicelle deep".

Our registry could be another research area but up to now no 1929 626 333 Rubicelle shimmer in there. Be the first!

This is the first time I've heard of Rubicelle-Maroon. As I understand it, Rubicalle-Deep is a deep maroon. But I've seen a dozen 1929's that had a variety of maroon paint and no two matched. Some have a little more blue and some have a little more red. But I suspect that the original was a little more blue and orange that what I would call a deep maroon.

The referrences you listed don't show Rubicelle , but here's one in Packardinfo.com that does:https://packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/PaintXRef/

The attached picture was taken from the same original as was presented in the e-mail train above, and is approximately the same maroon that I am planning on. The one I'm considering would be a little deeper and darker.

I've also changed the background landscape and added a couple horns and lights to the front to see how it would look with the extra bling.

This is what it would look like as a Phaeton. I was considering cutting the top off and making it a conversion but opted against it.
