G'day jc, 68427vette,
to PackardInfo. See there's this Henney Hearse in the Packard Owner's Registry. It's a '42 and if your number is 2001 then it would fit the bill. The pic's will help to tell the story. The Thief Proof Number embossed into the firewall will also help with member Owen_Dyneto able to assist if you can provide that. Speaking of assisting, once you've determined what it is, could you please include it in the Packard Owner's Registry?

2001A would be a 1942 commercial chassis. Numbering started at 2001 so it would appear to be the 724th commercial chassis in 1942. Coachwork most probably by Henney.
PS - another place for information on these vehicles is "The Professional Car Society".

Commercial chassis often use a mix of Junior, Senior, and Henney-only parts. The gang here can help sort that out. The engine number is going to be an starting point to tell if it's a 356 or a 282
