1941 Clipper Badge

I was looking to better identify the proper badge replacement for what is missing on my car. From the best I can tell, though searches prove to reflect inconsistencies, the Clipper name was not on the front doors in 1941 (no holes or patched holes best I can tell on mine but as I noted I sometimes see Clipper on 41/42 pics-- added?). On some trunks I see "Packard" but running upward from bumper to center. Based on my car, it looks to me like mine likely had "Packard" and "Clipper" on the trunk (high on outside, lower to center). If anyone has any photos of another 41 or examples for comparison please share. I've seen some "Clipper" badges for sale but being in pairs says "doors". Thanks.

I have a '41 Clipper. It only has a scrip "Packard" in the area you have marked. No other markings on fenders until 1942. I do have 2 sets of rocker moldings but I'm not ready to part one out. I'm doing a frame off restoration and it's just about ready to go to paint.

Is the Packard badge on the back large enough to span four holes like I have and/or angled the same? If you can share the measurements or confirm 2 or 4 anchor points that would be great. Thanks.

It's angled. I'll send some measurements tomorrow.

It has 2 pins located 3 3/8 inches apart. Mine is oriented differently. Starts from left tail light area and goes toward trunk angling up.

Just an idea. Since you'll be repainting your '41 Clipper anyway? why not fill in the holes and skip the body script? The 1946-47 Custom Supers showed Packard still grasped understatement, less is more, by deleting same on the side of the body/front fender, and the 1948-50 Custom tubs omitted Packard from the trunk lid.

You've got the debut model of arguably Packard's last understated design with an international mien, free it from those nervous tics. You never saw body script on Bentleys, R-Rs, Lagondas, Delages, Hispanos, et al, and Packard through the '40s still had a refined, overbuilt chassis equal or exceeding any of them.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Filling the holes may in fact be a requirement but just trying to balance as much returning to original as I am able. The interior in the car, while in decent shape, was definitely redone in a style that lets just say it's somewhere between hopping cars and pimp delight red.

The Packard script on the trunk lid of the 1941-47
Clippers is the same. It has 2 mounting pins and is
part number 375038. It is listed in the 1941-47
Packard master parts book under Group 31.1893.

I have a NOS script for sale if interested.

I'd be interested in the badge you have, thanks. (message me for what you want, etc.) I am guessing then that at some point someone must have added the secondary "Clipper" and had "Packard Clipper" inaccurately on the trunk. It's still interesting the angle being different but that could just be another mistake on this from some old work.

Any chance this is the same car. It appears to have the Clipper name on top and Packard name after and is not consistent with the usual 41-7 Clipper naming.packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/myalbum/photo.php?lid=3899
