Thanks for clearing that up, Dave - good to know. And thanks John, vinyl on the armrests. Chris.

I checked with Fred Kanter on question and this was his reply:
We've only seen two or three juniors with other than tan striped cloth, we owned it for 15 years. One was all original inside with green striped wool cloth and the drivers seat back was worn out. I don't recall where we got a piece to reupholster that portion but it was old original material not new reproduction. The others were blue striped material and all original inside. Thanks James From Kanter Auto Products

I see in the dealer's book, that even in 1946 they had rubber mats up front, carpet in the back....

I got my cloth from Bill Hirsch, he supplied the headliner material and carpet that I decided on. My car originally had a front rubber mat ( I found some remnants) but now it has a very nice Mercedes wool. I had my front seat bottom cushion thinned down to give me more room under the wheel so I had to use foam instead of the springs. I have no plans to inter a Concours show but wanted a nice car, my father purchased it when new. I did my own wood grainning of the dash and windows, a very big project.

Looks awesome!
I'm in similar situation, was my Dad's car and am preserving / restoring. Just finished mid car forward frame and all associated parts, complete engine rebuild, .030" over, and all wiring using era correct cloth covered wires. I did the wood grain on the dash and window trim a couple of winters ago, indeed a challenging task but highly rewarding! Who did the steering wheel? Mine needs work

I did the steering wheel myself, it wasn't hard and seems to be holding up well. The wheel was in pretty good shape to start with just having some cracks in it. I "V"ground the cracked areas, mixed up some JB Weld and put on, sanded it when dry. Then I epoxy primered the wheel and shot a base coat / clear coat on it, it turned out pretty nice, I also re painted the horn button at the same time.

be more patient than I was, and wait for the epoxy primer to cure completely. My topcoat crazed the first time I did this.

The 39 Data Book and the 35-41 Parts Listing seem to agree. Below images from the Body Section 30 of Parts Listing. This information was helpful also for determining proper beltline and wheel pinstripe combinations.
Note the Paint Trim combinations indicate Trip Option "3-5" (which I guess means 3,4 and 5) were available for every paint code. Then, looking up options 3, 4,5 in the Trim Codes: Option 3: Tan Pin Stripe Broadcloth, pn 317124 Option 4: Blue Gray Broadcloth, pn 325179 Option 5: Tan Bedford Cord Cloth, pn 325088 If you own a convertible, leather options also listed separately. Hope this helps, Pat
