In parallel with the horn restoration, I did a clean up on the side mount plates and locks. They look great and the locks are working perfectly after working in a little lube to free up the mechanism. Before and after….

I’m also pretty excited to get started on the car itself. I have a restoration shop coming out to look at the car in person. Then, we’ll start discussing the details. It’s a reputable shop that recently finished a 1937 Six, so they have some familiarity. We’ll see how that goes.

Still looking for a shop to get started on my car. In the meantime, I was able to get new hood louvres from Max Merritt. They come rough milled, so needed some polishing time. Started with 400 grit paper and worked up to 1200 grit, before finishing with Simichrome polish. Here are a few pics.

Also decided to see what the Simichrome would do on my headlight rings….I’m pretty satisfied.

Today was a good day. After a year of the car being in storage, it is now in my garage where I can get started working on it. I’ll start with the brakes, and then move to dropping the fuel tank to clean it out and see if I can get the car started.
I think I’ve figured out some garage organization that will let me do quite a bit of work myself. At least that’s the hope. I’m retiring at the end of the year, so time should get easier as well. The timing of getting the car moved today is awesome. Yesterday was my mom and dad’s 60th wedding anniversary, but we’re celebrating with them tonight. This was the only car they had when they got married 60 years ago. Attach file: IMG_7881.jpeg (206.17 KB) IMG_7886.jpeg (274.41 KB) IMG_7891.jpeg (217.08 KB) IMG_6259.jpeg (243.27 KB)
