That's the thing, there's two or more 288 heads, one for manual transmissions, and the 288AT head which is the smallest chambered one.

Since the intake manifold is integral with the exhaust on my design, and also made out of steel, heating it won't be the problem, cooling it will. I have a trick up my sleeve for that problem when I get there.

Unfortunately, everytime I come across a V12 Packard engine it's usually in the $5000 range for a complete but rebuildable one. I like the cheaper straight eights better.

Some progress, more work on figuring out the turbos and how I'm going to put them on the car. The intake will have to be going up and over the top of the turbos, as the exhaust is in the way if I run them straight underneath. (Which I'd rather do, as I like straight intake runners with as few curves as possible, but the turbos will make up for any bends I'll have to make.) The valve cover is what I'm making the air box out of, actually this one that's from a Packard and one from a Hudson version which has no name. I'm going to cut the ends off of it and extend it about 6", using the ends of the Hudson valve cover to extend it. Then I'll have it chromed. If you like that, wait until you see the air cleaner!
