Interesting he's an ass for letting that car go downhill so badly, and an ass in trying to converse in an intelligent conversation.

According to parts manual AC was available on all prewar Clipper models except the taxi.

Howard (HH56), it is not easy to understand the reason for this limitation. Men, who sat their whole day in the car and earned money by help of a Packard could not order A/C?

Gerd, that is a good point but in some cases I wonder how effective it would have been since it was in the trunk. A lot of cabs of that era were what I think was called New York Taxis. Those had a partition separating the driver and passenger so doubt he would have gotten much benefit.

I think also that most cabs then were owned by companies and not drivers. I doubt they would care to spend what was a fairly large amount of money on driver comfort. I expect taxi drivers were in sort of the same social class as chauffeurs and creature comfort was not a priority.

Just out of curiosity, do you know if the seller is the same person that bought the car from you in 1988? Thirty years is plenty of time for a car to change hands more than once. Regardless, it's sad to see your former Clipper in such sad shape.

1955 Clipper Panama Super - $4500 (Youngstown, OH)

Has anyone laid eyes on this one? The seller's pictures leave something to be desired and his description isn't too good, either.

No. I don't know. It remained in the same State, though.

Price Drop...This was posted here earlier at $9995. Dealer that's selling it just dropped price to $7995. Bet if you offered him $5K it'd be yours. Just be sure to decline the paint protection and interior Scotchguard.

1937 120 deluxe. I'm wondering if they have kept the original drivetrain cause the car has AC.
