If I brought that home and told the wife I paid $8k for it I'd be walkin' funny for the rest of my days.

The seller writes that the 8-cylinder engine has been replaced with a 6-cylinder. Nice looking convertible coupe, and with a proper engine could be a good buy. JWL

I cannot help myself but to selfishly comment on the 37 convertible which "could be a good buy". Selfishly speaking, my 37 convertible with a correct engine that is not begging for a restoration "might be a better buy".

Respectfully,
DAF

Who wanted a cheap 36 or 37 coupe? I'm wondering if it's a 37 115. I'll let someone with more Packard seniority make that decision.

This Caribbean has been for sale for quiet some time, and it won't sell. I don't know much about these postwar cars but why is this one not selling? I can see that the top is not very tight and the upholstery a little sloppy but is that a reason to dog this car $30k or am I missing the big white elephant in the room?

It seems to be a decent enough Caribbean, but the lack of the correct carburetion and air filter may be one reason it's not found a buyer, cost aside those components are increasingly hard to locate. And in my view that cheap "one size fits all" universal radiator hose can be indicative of an owner who isn't willing to spend $20?to get the correct hose and has perhaps treated the car's other needs similarly - to me that's always a caution flag.
