The Hershey weather forecast is looking great for the Swapmeet. Much better than the washing we got last year! But everyone knows that it can always change by the hour!

Okay…this was mine and Kathy’s first year at Hershey. We had a great time. So many to thank! It was great to meet so many in person who have been helping me with my car the past year and even better to spend time making new friends!

We did the touristy things on Monday and the car show Tuesday and Wednesday. I found a few items I’ve been looking for along with a couple of upgrades for items I already had. Tomorrow we’re off to Philly to spend time with our son and future daughter-in-law!

Already looking forward to next year!

It was good to meet you Don!

We had very sunny and warm weather in the 80s during the Swapmeet.

Had rain on the way home, and arrived home to a high temp of 50f. BRRRRR

It was a good meet. Most of the parts I came home with were brought there for me by others. I found some small stuff on the field. But alas, no right rear fender. The search continues!

It was good to see everyone again and see some new faces.

I had some good finds…I found some much better trunk hinges that have been elusive. I also found the correct trumpets for my horns, so I’m pretty excited about that.

But, as you my search continues for the elusive air cleaner. But, several folks said they may have one at home. I’ll be emailing several in hopes of turning one up.

Hi All.
Just home from our first-ever Hershey to the west coast. Six hours of flying coupled with six hours of driving and a few hours of wait times speckled in amongst the legs, made for a very long day but super-glad we made the trip. Hershey was 'as advertised' and the volume of sights, parts and cars was mind boggling. Got a chance to meet some of the Packard folks and that was indeed a pleasure. Came and went from Johnstown PA, visiting friends there, and the two hour drive to Hershey gave us a chance to see the Pennsylvania countryside in vibrant fall colours. It is a beautiful and history-rich state. We met people from all over and I was struck by the number of attendees that boasted annual attendance for many years. Somewhat of a 'rite of passage' for the old car enthusiast and I certainly felt 'indoctrinated' after walking those many rows of antique parts and Americana memorabilia. Seeing people carting their finds from the site, wagons, dollies and huge bags laden with all manner of pieces right up to whole fenders and hoods, etc. made it clear why Hershey is a vital event in keeping the hobby relevant and antique cars on the road. Doubt it will be our last time there!
Chris.

It was great to meet you, Chris (and Penny). It was our first time as well, We just got home tonight after visiting our son in Philadelphia.

When Dad gave me his old car, I was really excited to be able to get started on it. I really want him to see it on the road again. What I didn’t know was how great the community would be. The help is incredible, but it’s is so much more than that.

In a relatively short time, I’ve made a lot of progress on the car thanks to this group. But, far more important is that Kathy and I have made a lot of new friends!

For all those who haven’t made it to Hershey, I highly encourage you to go if you can. It was such a great experience.

Hey Don,
Thanks and same goes re meeting you and Kathy. Fine crowd all around; as you say, it's more than just old cars - the camaraderie and social exchanges go well beyond. Glad you made it home safely. Good luck with your car. Chris.
