There was a long wheelbase 160 sedan in Tucson several years ago that I looked at it and made a fair offer on but which was ignored. They wanted nearly $30k for it and I offered $5k. It had power windows and factory A/C but with the wrong compressor in the trunk that never would have fit and needed absolutely everything.

Having said that, someone I know recently bought a gorgeous 1941 180 Sports Brougham for $2,500 that was advertised as an ambulance! It is missing the hood, grilles and has an incorrect interior but is otherwise shiny and beautiful.

'55 400. Needs aesthetic parts put back on, and electrical system sorted.
'55 Clipper Deluxe. Engine is stuck-ish.

I have a guy with a 356 for sale for $2000. It apart, and he's adamant.

I offered him $800 and that felt generous. Rejected.

I offered a guy $200 for the non-o/d trans that he has for sale for $500 and you'd think I was burgling his house and kidnapping his wimmins. Rude he was.

They both still have their stuff, I noticed.

If you're not having fun, maybe it's your own damned fault.

1947 4 Door Clipper. Parts car, been sitting in a field for years. It's located about 10 minutes from me and I've driven by to see it from the road. Rough shape, windows broken and open. Maybe some salvagable parts. Cheap: $500.

Those LWB front fenders look kinda decent. Too bad that it's a few time zones from practical for Fred

I wonder if anybody buys those junks. The worst one ever is the 32 Individual Custom Eight Convertible Victoria by Dietrich that they chopped up. At the peak those were million dollar cars, but that hot rod junker periodically goes on sale for some other stupid price. I don't know if there is anybody stupid enough to buy it.

Here is the original

Of course nowadays they paint over the chrome radiator shell which is just as stupid.
