The 1949 has On-off residential 120vac electrical switches. Using switches to power coil and starter. This reflects knowledge level of owner.
Makes me wonder what else is non automotive,,,,,,,

Battery, coil, starter switches. Mix of stranded wire and solid 10awg Romex. Hoo boy.

What's crazy is that buying automotive wire is cheaper and easier than Romex by far. You don't need 10awg for a coil certainly, even for a starter solenoid probably not more than 14awg high temperature wire.

Previous owner was a contractor and used what was left over in his work truck!

He could have at least put a swtich plate on it. No way the inspector is going to sign off on that!

I dunno I kinda like it. Maybe I’ll hook up some dimmers and I can get a real gradual start and really fine tune that spark once and for all. Maybe we’ve had it all wrong with automotive switches and toggles. Maybe we shouldn’t stop there… imagine a radiator neck with a flusher like a toilet!

Whole dash including starter in this desert car. Guy is asking more than I want to pay for parts I already have spares of, but if you need a spare starter switch or whatever this car has one. But it's not far from standard market rates for questionable parts with bad chrome.

Spotted these today:

1942-1947 Clipper Club Sedan. Can't tell exact year or model as car appears to be stripped and there is only one photo. Body panels appear to be relatively solid so maybe a good parts car if you need body parts for one of these cars. Seller asking $1,500. Missouri:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/828146362694319/

1949 or 1950 23rd Series Sedan. Think it is a Standard Eight. Generally solid and complete but needs restoration. Appears complete. Ad states engine turns. Asking $3K. Texas:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/3903287316626039

1958 Hardtop. Rough car, see collision damage to left rear, some parts missing. Interior is gutted. Probably better as a parts car but there are certainly many useable components and body appears to have little, if any rust. Drive train is intact. Rare last year Packard. Asking $2,500. Oklahoma:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/9634812323 ... 208a021-934d-46ae-927e-e05c90f4aeaf

1951 Henney Hearse. Solid but needs complete restoration. Ad states car will run. Asking $4,500. Tennessee:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/558321990434809

1953 Clipper Sedan. Abandoned restoration project. Engine is free but car is not running. Ad states seller has new rocker and quarter panel sections. Asking $1K. Utah:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/1307205876947130/

1950 Eight Club Sedan. Abandoned restoration project. Partially disassembled and in primer. Body does look exceptionally solid. Car has Ultramatic trans. Asking $4,950. Sacramento. CA area:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/880484247585657

1938 Six Business Coupe. Fully restored in Packard Ivory. Interior completely redone in correct pattern. This car is stunning. Seller must have well over his asking price of $28K invested for the car to be as nice as it is. Nevada:
