only two more window mouldings left to go, driver's side and front window. I like that it is tying in with the dash nicely.

for those curious...here is the car I bought for my Cousin-in-law. 99 Buick Regal. nothing fancy....but it starts, runs, stops, and gets her to work.

looks like the next few days will be spent repairing fence panels. hell of a storm came through here last night. winds so bad it busted the 4x4 posts in half. I hope all the other Packardites in DFW are okay as well!

Henry, I agree, the wood grained vinyl wrap enhances the appearance and I like the matching theme of the instrument panel and door mouldings. Good job.

Will I see you and your family in Kerrville on Saturday? I am planning on going, but just for the day. If the garage gods are in agreement I hope they let me drive the Avanti.

thanks Howard! I just have the driver's window and front windshield moulding to wrap in vinyl and i think the rest of the work will just be cleaning the car up as good as i can for the show.

took my wife about a day to get those hand holds just right. i think she did a great job matching the material color. so well that in the future i will have her get more to cover over that black on the tops of the doors. it looks bad now that the mouldings are burlwood instead of black.

one of these days i'll find the right ashtrays and foot rest for the rear and the sun visors for the front. i think that is all that is missing now. For now though its on the right track and should show well enough at the Concours. i'm not concerned with wining anything, i just want to represent the Jr model Packard as best i can in a field full of CCCA recognized cars.

JR POWER!

front windshield moulding completed. I think it really makes that dash stand out. just one more to do for now. hopefully that divider window moulding works out and i'll wrap it too.

also fighting a miss on cylinder 1. clean the spark plug off and it works fine. I guess the spark plug keeps fouling. it is covered in solid black when I pull it to clean it.

when I pull the spark plug wire to see if the cylinders are hitting....every cylinder is good except number 1. when I pull the plug I hear the snapping of the arch, but it does not change the sound of the motor. I clean the spark plug and do the test again and the motor will bog and change. it seem to be hit or miss, so the plug must be getting fouled over time.

Dash and the vinyl on the moldings really looks good.

Could be rings haven't seated yet and needs a bit more running. Until then, wonder if a hotter plug in that cylinder would help.

Was just thinking of a commercial where they claim the E3 plugs are less prone to fouling and will fire when others won't. Maybe worth trying one in that cylinder and see if the commercial is true or so much hooey.

yeah not bad for 15 bucks in vinyl. where there is a will there is a way! and in this case a major need to save money. LOL!

yeah I only have 107 miles on the rebuild so far. I need to keep taking it out for drives. when I drive it, I do not feel a miss and it has plenty of power. the good news is I get a good healthy spark from the wire to the spark plug when I pull it off. good snapping sound...so I know its not the dizzy.

but yesterday I turned it on and could tell it was missing. pulled number one spark plug wire and sure enough it was that. clean it and put it back in and boom it ran smooth again.

I wonder what plugs are available though because they are 10mm. I had a hard enough time finding those in stock and honestly they wouldn't have been my first choice. they are just champion copper cores. plain jane spark plugs really.

I have tried E3 before in my z3.....hooey. I took them out and when I did, the coating on the tips was pealing off. junk.

Appropriate Autolite 10mms plugs are available at any decent auto parts store, they give excellent service. I believe the number is Autolite 3076 but if I'm wrong someone will correct me.
