Since the gas tank is out and I'm waiting on parts, figured it was a good time to tackle the trunk.

I need to strip all the rust from floor. Also the glue from all the stick mouse traps that were in there when I got the car melted over the floor. Also found a couple of unoccupied mudduaber nests.

I Used a roloc stripping disc. The floor is heavily pitted and has some smaller holes under the rumble seat area. One of the seat drains is missing which is probably the reason. Also the drip pan under the seat is completed rotted away. So I'll have to fabricate that.

I got a majority of the surface rust scale stripped. Going to hit it with some rust converter to kill the rust in all the pits, then cover the floor with some rust encapsulating paint.

Then i'll start working on stripping the underside of the trunk.

The floor in front of the rumble seat was already replaced. But trunk section will eventually need some patches. But for now the plan is just to stabilzed it. Ill deal with those repairs when I replace the metal behind the doors that need to be replaced. For now, spray Flexseal make a great temporary patch for pinholes.

A coat of rust converter sprayed. This stuff needs to cure for 24hrs at the current temperature in the garage.

So by tomorrow afternoon I can get back out there and continue working on it.

'55 400. Needs aesthetic parts put back on, and electrical system sorted.
'55 Clipper Deluxe. Engine is stuck-ish.

Thanks guys. The dash and interior have been the easiest. The rest is going to be the hard and slow parts!

Couple of shots yesterday I took while I was working on the trunk.

The interior is covered to protect it from dust.

The wheel dollies make moving the car around by myself a godsend.
