The easiest way I would think would be to first start with the 55/56 Parts Book and find the lowest numerical part listed.

Usually I can tell by the first two numbers when a part number was issued as they are kinda sequential.

But given all the changes with powertrain and electrical in 55, perhaps the 54 parts book would be the best one to try that experiment with.

Now you're cooking with gas, as the parts numbers were assigned more or less in ascending numberical order!! Go Kev! You just have to make sure there wasn't a gap in the useage, as there was with the rectangular pedal pads.

Once again the 300191 wooden seal in group 5.0407 was used at least from 1935-54.

Good one Joel, and a neat, obscure part at that!! Puts you solidly in 2nd place for the moment.

Let's see, common to both senior and junior.

Off the top of my head, 210016 10th through 54th series - 22 years - WWII inclusive.

Well, not really. I thought it about during dinner and looked up the numbers.

However, I think the pedal pad is a better answer given that - excluding 1950 - it was used through 1956 and was introduced in the late 6th series or 27 years

Doesn't have to be common to both junior and senior, just a part number in continuous use for the longest # of years.

I didn't think we were allowed to look in the parts book.

West, highest honors to those that don't use the parts manuals, but if you ultimately must..... Seems like my hope to get some good guesses w/o the parts book was unrealistic.

Again, I'm not sure I've got the winner with 21 years of continuous (except for WW II) use. And I only stumbled across it doing a repair for someone and in discussing it with someone else, got the clue.

How about the clutch or brake pedal mechanism?

What specific part number? And in use for how many years?
