1928 526 spare tire mounting help

I have the spare tire holder and brace rod. The brace rod goes through the holder and has a lock washer and nut placed on the inside of the holder. I also have a round disk with a hole in the middle. What holds the tire in place? What parts am I missing? I have a plug lock with a key but it looks like it just fills the hole and does not provide any support to hold the spare tire in place. The owners manual tells of placing the disk in place with the word "up" in the 12 o'clock position.

Can anyone tell me the proper order of mounting the spare tire. Can anyone provide photos of it and photos of any missing hardware I still need to procure?

Wish we had cutaway views of the older cars.

Are you talking side-mount or rear-mount? I'd be happy to remove the rear spare from my 526 and take some photos if that's what you're after.

Here's six pics of the complete assembly. Hopefully this answers your question. Let me know if you need to see anything else.
