Google "exhaust pipe insulation". Most all speed shops handle it along with internet sellers like Summit Auto

If you don't find what you want at Summit or the like also check out McMaster Carr.https://www.mcmaster.com Do a search for standard wire insulation sleeving. They have several high temp woven sleeving offerings. Some go up to 2500 degrees and up to 6" diameter.

Barry, I don't know what you mean by "mesh" type or "sock" insulation, but here's the type of material frequently being used on the prewar Senior cars to replace the asbestos insulation on the exhaust header. Whether this particular vendor is still active I don't know.

I recall a vendor who provides parts to the vintage Cadillac community used to sell an exhaust insulation like O_D posted. Forget the name, but one can search the vendors on the Cadillac LaSalle club site.

JW, perhaps the name you're trying to recall is McVey's?

In the past they offered some type of exhaust header insulation kit and also did very good restorations on Trico washer pumps but I don't believe they offer either any more.

O_D, that's the one! The name came back to me about 3AM. The mind is a terrible thing.
