I don't think the post office will recognize that one. PM me if you don't want to post your snail mail here.

I didn't have a camera with me this morning, but I'll get you a photo. I have absolutely, positively, beyond all doubt verified that there are no diamond brackets or theft-proof numbers on the firewall of this Packard 160 Henney 7 Passenger closed touring car.

JW & King, the 36 Twelve owner's manual is not and I don't believe has ever been available as a reprint. Good originals go for $250 or more.

Walt, I've spoken to the owner of the 36 Twelve manual; he's reluctant to see it opened 180 degrees to lay flat on a scanner - we're thinking about alternatives. Opening it 90 degrees and photographing with a macro lens seems the route though it will take some time, so be patient. I'll have to go out and buy some B&W film and set up a tripod, etc.

For anyone interested in scanning alot of books, check out the Plustek 3600. It's a scanner that scans right to the edge so you can lay a over the edge, and the other side of the book dangle off the table. Costs about $225, and even comes with software to account for the distortion where the pages curve into the binding.

IF the tax-man is not to harsh with me this year, then I may buy one for use with the website.

There are also services that do archival scanning of older books. Just Google 'book scanning'.

Thanks Tom, but what the owner of the manual insists on avoiding is opening the book beyond just glimsing inside, and having it handled by others.
