I am taking the sheet metal to a friend of a friend's shop this afternoon to bend up that drip pan. He has a brake with a 48" capacity, which is what I need.

Also on Monday, I plan on taking those fenders that came out of upstate New York up to a shop nearby to get an estimate for repairing them as they both have similar tears at the top of the well arch.

This is the same shop that is working on Dezi's 37 120 Sedan.

I'd like to get all the rough metal work done on those. Then they can go on the car in whatever patina they have once I finish tracking down the other running board.

In the 1935-41 parts book, there are only two footman loops, both used for top hold down. The utility part# for yours is 313154. If the ones in your car are 1.75” center hole to center hole, Them is the ones. Check out 50.655 utility and 31.053 strap and 31.054 footman loop.
If using them to hold straps that hold the top down is impossible, they are not original.
Mine are 327381 1-7/8” center to center as per my model number.

What will be holding the running boards? Weren’t their support brackets removed or have you located replacements to rivet back on?

New drip pan bent up. I still need to weld up the corners and then transfer all the other pieces over from the the old pan.

I'll use some seam sealer around all the joints and hardware.

For comparison, this is what was left of the old one.

Getting the "stiffener" plate out of the old tray was an adventure. In addition to the rusted bracket bolts, and rivets, it was spot welded in various places on the bottom and up the side.

After fussing with it for awhile, an air chisel was the best tool to use for separating the two and breaking the spot welds. What a mess it made though.

But here is the plate laying in the new tray. It's heavily pitted, but still alot of meat left on it.

It will get a coat of rust converter. Both the tray and the plate will get a coat of miracle paint. Also seam sealer. But I still need to weld in the drain pipes first.

It's funny how such a little thing can really finish it off. It looks great and the knobs are perfect as they are!
