Clean 55 Patrician for sale in Youngstown, 8500

Does look pretty good, at least from what can be seen from the lousy pictures.

I agree, that does look like a nice car. A small amount of work to get it back on the road, and you'd have a great car.

A few from the Pacific Northwest:

1956 Patrician $6,000. Painted in solid Tangier Red, chrome and stainless appear decent. No pictures of the interior but the owner states it needs to be redone. Apparently runs well, torsion level works well.

1955 400 $23,500. Only one picture shown of this car, but I think it's the same one I've seen before. There was an older gentleman looking to sell it a few years back for about 18k. It is very well maintained. The few pictures I saw looked like it may have had a full repaint at some point in the past. Seat covers didn't look original, but the pictures were not very good. If this is the same car I'm thinking of, the owner had a shop full of Packards and Hudsons that he restored nicely.

1955 Patrician $4,900. Good price for what looks like a decent project. Seller say the condition is "stellar", I disagree. Overall not terrible shape though. Paint is okay, and may clean up well. Interior looks like the seat cover fronts have been recovered with non-original material.

1955 Clipper Custom Hardtop $2,500. This is the guy I bought my '54 Panama from. This car was sitting out in the field and I took a look at it while I was there. I don't think the engine was still in it. The car is basically gutted with very little of value left. At the time the guy said it was a parts car for $500. Looks like his kids or someone else is trying to sell it now for way more.

1955 Patrician $5,500. The crappy pictures continue. Will need most everything. Pictures strategically don't show any of the interior, which I assume is trashed. But not a terrible price for a project, as long as you understand what you are getting into. Chrome and stainless don't look bad, especially the rear bumper. Front bumper not so much. Torsion level obviously not working. Has wire wheels, which is unexpected.

56 Patrician – probably a nice ride for anyone who enjoys Mexican blankets. A real attention getter and it's nice to buy something with major mechanical refreshments already done.

55 Patrician – I agree, the interior does not look original, but is very close. Could be SMS fabrics for all I know. Pretty ballsy to say it's stellar when so many random trim pieces are missing... rear ashtray, driver window switch bezel, rear door handle, Packard script on the dash, etc. Wonder why. Paint I think will look fine with a but of polish and clear coat.

55 Clipper – $600 tops as a parts car. You can clearly see the engine still there, but the interior is trashed and there's random stuff already missing.

55 Patinarician – looks decent but you can get much better for the price. e.g. the $4900 and $6000 cars above.

I like the side storage areas but surely the doors themselves could have been made considerably thinner in order to maximize the space. There are no passengers there so just a couple reinforcements would have been enough. I would love to see how Ross could improve this car should it ever come his way!

Many (though not all) of Ross's use the original roof front and back, just with the mostly flat middle section removed. So they end up with a club coupe look and the rear doors only partly overlap with the bed. On this one, they used some other piece to make a nearly vertical rear of the cab with the bed right behind, so not as good use of space with the rear doors I would suspect.

I wonder where they got the rear of the cab, or if they curved it themselves. On Ross's builds it seems like, if he is not using the rear of the original car roof, he just does a flat piece, inset, like on this 56 Patrician and his 53 Clipper shop truck.

That 400 in Maltese Gray/Scottish Heather.... Wow, that has to be my favorite color combination. If only I had a spare 22k lying around.

I have pretty much all the PI issues from 1999 to 2014 but as luck would have it, the Summer 2008 issue with that 56 exec is one of the only couple of them I am missing LOL
