I'm trying to find the definitive answer to this:
Is the oil filler cap supposed to be small variety, or the large as used on the eights. I see restored cars with the large cap, and I've seen some cars with the small cap. Since the 110 did not use the draft tube, I don't see why the large cap would be correct.

West, I was just perusing the sales brochure literature here at PackardInfo and see the prewar cars have small diameter caps. The 46 Brochure that is currently shown on the site home page shows a slightly larger diameter cap.

The 41 Brochure shows the eight engine with the smaller cap.

I suggest a bit more literature search in the service letters and parts book.

Check out Feb 1, 1941 Service Counselor Vol 15 #3 and the article on sticky valves. It mentions changing oil fill tube and cap even on 110's to a different style. Part numbers for the new items are given so perhaps you can cross reference the number to other models and see if it's the same cap larger engines used.
