Hi ,

I was recently doing some research & digging in getting all the details on my car which is a 1946 Packard Clipper Club Coupe. I am stuck at just the chassis print which I need info for.

The Chassis reads on the first line AOS 9-19-46 which means the date of production or supply of the chassis and second line reads PACK 120 XXX which means its a Packard 120" chassis but the letters after that.

The reason I wanted this information is that once I repaint the chassis I want to re stencil the same as to keeping the car authentic and original.

Experts and fellow members please help here. An image is attached of the current print on the chassis

Thank you

Perhaps a more appropriate alternative approach to cutting a new stencil would be to mask the area when painting the chassis and preserve the original marking, perhaps overspraying with clear to preserve it. Anyone can cut a stencil with some numbers, and after that who knows if it's correct. Preserve the original markings!!

I second that thought. It's only original once.

Gently remove the surface rust and respray over the original identification number.
