@ John: Indeed, Minerva was the only pure Belgian made Motorcar. The story didn't last long times.
Right now there is car manufactory in our small country: Ford is building here the TRANSIT van and also the MONDEO and S-Max ( Which I think would also be exported to the US ), Volkswagen/AUDI is building the A2 and the GOLF and VOLVO has also a plant here building the S30, V50, S60 and the V70 which is also well known in the States.

I'm surprised you know the Minerva motorcar... .

Xavier, I once was in a beer store in Bruges which advertised over 400 brands of beer for sale and most were Belgian! Heaven.

Xavier: I consider myself a car historian.

Three other cars produced in your country.

Imperia 1906 to 1949

Excelsior 1901 to 1932 which merged with Imperia in 1929.

Metallurgique 1898 to 1928.

Hi,

My Caprice was bought as a hearse, it has 38000 kilometers on the odo, still first factory placed tires.
I have dismantled all the ornaments of being hearse and now it's a long bed wagon with only 2+1 seats.
The car is registered as delivery car.

The makes you mention aren't known here in our country. There are a few of them displayed in the Brussels Car and transportation Museum.

Ardooie - Leningrad will be approx 2500 kilometers in straight line. A bit far for a thee visit isn't it?
