Well, this is my second Packard and it's all Flackmaster's fault ! He told me, back when I got my 51 Patrician 400, that it would become an addiction......DAMN YOU FLACKMASTER ! ROTFLMAO I have no regrets with my new found addiction. Flackmaster has been a great influence in the few emails, phone conversations and at the 2012 Salado Meet. Thanks Flackmaster. As I stated in another post, this will be my first true "restoration". I look forward to hearing from all of you as it progresses. Advice, tips and What the hell were you thinking, strongly encouraged. My wife already thinks I've lost my freaking mind. I figure...no balls, no blue chips..... I know time and patience......and a whole lot of money....will prevail. LOL These first set of photo's are from the CL post and as it was when I went and looked at it for the first time......

Good luck along the journey. You'll have many voyeurs travelers here who'll be making the journey with you. We will offer opinions, advice and support. But you will be doing all the hard work. Plenty of friendly people here, besides Flackmaster, to guide your footsteps, help share the load and applaud your accomplishments.

Hi

Congratulations on taking on that '54 Pacific for restoration! It's a rare and highly worthwhile model to preserve. When you have a chance, post a list of needed parts in addition to a 359 engine so we can all be on the lookout for them.

Congratulations again on the new purchase.

Did the seller tell you any history on the car? Does the title give you the last owner of records name, and location?

Oh what fun it is!

The only history I have to date is that the car was placed in a barn in Boyd, Texas around 1968. It even has the 68 Hemisphere license plate still on the rear bumper. I don't have the title yet, will be getting it this week. As far as parts needed, Flackmaster has a complete grill for me as this one is busted up pretty good. Also looking for a set of seats. This Pacific had no seats. The bumpers are in pretty sad shape. I may have to pick up some 53/54 parts cars to get some of these parts I neeed. I would hate to dismantle a Packard for parts but I know sometimes it's necessary. This Pacific had window cranks so no power windows. The list will grow I know but those are some of the major items. One thing I did find in the trunk were the highly desirable headlight rings with the fins on top. I know there are a few guys looking for those.

The Pacific has been sold and is no longer a project blog for me. It has become someone else's project. Whether that person chooses to blog it or not will be their decision.....
