I found a man who has a 55 block pulled from a caribbean, just the block. I thought I'd buy it just for future whatever--what is it worth? It's only the block

I don't think a 55 Caribbean block is any different than any other 55 senior blocks, other than it would be stamped with the 5588-????

I would like to know the cast date, Utica number, as well as what Caribbean it came from.

Unless one is a numbers-matching maven, a '55 block is not particularly desirable.

Any '56 block is improved over the '55 and from a building standpoint, if not using the original block, why not build a 374"?

Bottom line, $500 is more than I'd pay for a'55 352" core long block (unless it came with the Caribbean intake, carbs, linkage, lines and air cleaner ;>)
