Doesn't mention the soft '55 valve spring retainers allowing the keepers to pull through. Happened to every hard-run early Packard V8 I ever saw.
FWIW, the Isky E2 cam was hardly worth the installation. It had very little additional lift and duration than did the Packard cams. The only advantage would have been if Everett bought the kit with stiffer springs and hardened retainers. Then, he could wind 'er up without fear of a retainer dropping a valve. jack vines
