Congratulations

The transfer of Packard knowledge is good to hear.

Can't tell you how many times I have chased down Packard stuff in the past and was told they threw it away because no one wanted it.

But as Uncle Ben told Peter Parker,

Some of the content is on ZIP discs. I have to buy a USB zip drive off of Amazon to even be able to start to read some of the data on them. The other CDs are all in PageMaker. So I'll need to open them in Adobe InDesign or CS to be able to convert them to PDF files for the website.

Going to start with the digital stuff first, then I will know what I have and don't have as far as scanning.

First scanning pass will be missing Service Info, as that is the most important.

Kev, if a 30 day trial version (including print & PDF) is good enough, then go for Vista, NT, XP, 2000

Adobe Pagemaker wasn't available for download anymore since it was so old. But they did have a free trial download of InDesign which was the replacement product for it. Thanks!

Wow! How exciting. Kev, what a great testament to your work and the dedicated members of this website who have done so much by keeping and preserving the great Packard legacy and all the models estant. There are quite a few collectors, organizations, museums, clubs, etc., that would have liked to have this treasure, yet, because of your vision and highly regarded philosophy to make all the information readily available to ALL comers, the donner selected you and Packard Motor Car Information to be the recipient of Fred Mauck's, work of an entire lifetime....a great honor Kevin. My thanks Mrs Mauck.

That 41 Taxi is really interesting. No (normal) tail lights, Sunroof!!, 160 door trim and of course the trunk rack. I once had the chance to buy that 41-taxi trunk rack, but did not, thinking Nobody would ever want/believe it - very plain and industrial looking.
I wonder if any of these 41 taxi's have survived....I've never seen or heard of one...
