Steering Wheel on a 1932 901

I'm wrapping up installing the electrical on the car and have examined the image of the steering wheel (see insert) to determine how everything goes together. I can't tell which lever (see Red Arrow) goes to the right side and which goes to the left. Does the lever with the greatest amount to lift go to the right or left side? Also, there are two knobs one of which is chrome and the other a reddish phenolic material. I believe that the red goes to the left.

I'm guessing that it might help if I were to ask is the lever for the electrical switch on the left side of the steering wheel?

We don't have a 32 manual on site and no idea now similar 31s are but on 31s the light switch appears to be on the left.

Marty,

Light switch knob is on the left, accelerator knob is on the right.

Both knobs are chrome plated, unless the car has a vacuum assist clutch, then it has a red knob on the right.

Non-vacuum assist steering wheel setup shown in the picture.

Vacuum assist setup shown below.

Note difference in control knobs, left for lighting control is shiny, right is darker (red), indicating the car has a vacuum assisted clutch.

Howard & Dave,

Thanks for your inputs. Looking at the car & switch the left side looks the best for the switch. in all of the boxes of parts that i have for the car the vacuum assist for the clutch does not appear to be an option that this car had, but I'm thinking it is one the wife would like to see it equipped with.
