Does anyone know if there is a source for springs for rebuilding the seat of a 1941 Packard. I'm guessing that no one offers replacement coil springs. Has anyone rebuilt seats with good results? Any suggestions ? Thank you.

I don't know if Packard springs are that different dimensionally than ordinary upholstery springs but you might check this place out. I've bought the zig zag or sinuous type from them. They have an assortment of coil springs as well.http://www.diyupholsterysupply.com/upholstery-supplies.html

Packard did have a selection of different firmness levels with their springs but I don't know how you would determine that comparatively over the internet unless you can get something close to the same wire gauge and height.

None of my springs were broken, but they had detached from the seat spring frame, which itself had to be welded. But the springs were good, So 2 seat length strips of burlap were sewn together and then sewn into columns to make pockets for the springs. If you had to order, you'd need to measure the springs, including the wire and count the coils.
