Does anyone know what this was? Have any pictures of it?
This plaque was at the PAC swap meet in Redding.

looks like something a museum had made to be set on a pedestal in front of a bare torsion level chassis to me. or maybe it was on the frame itself.

Any idea when that TL trainer was built or how big the box is? It appears to have been done by another company so maybe with all the turmoil they outsourced the training stuff for 55.

There are photos of some small models of the TL chassis showing how everything connects together and moves. I think there is one demonstrated in either in the Allison movie or one of the Packard sales promo films showing off features in 55-6 cars. Could be wrong but don't think it was electrically operated. I wonder if that could be what was in the box.

In 56 Packard had a demo training panel they built themselves for the pushbutton shift. That was sent to zones or maybe dealers conducting training schools. There is a photo of that in one of the 56 service counselors. No mention I could find or remember seeing of anything like that for the TL.

The seller had no idea what the plaque went on. There wasn't anything else, just the plaque.

No idea what year this trainer was built for.

If Packard had a TL trainer, wouldn't there be documentation somewhere?
I don't remember seeing anything in the Service Counselors or anything else about the training.

The movie the "Safe Road Ahead" had a small TL model.

I tried searching for the Tulsa company that made this, but did not come up with anything.

In 1954 the Copyright Office of The Library of Congress mentioned Technical Training Aids Inc. as a company that was chosen by Packard to fabricate an animated Ultramatic panel.
TTA Inc. survived. The TL trainer seems to be another individual item, maybe an exhibition stand construction.
Call them to check their database for "TTA 402" (and diplomatically point to the correct spelling of their hometown "Birimingham").

I sent them an e-mail, and will follow up with a call if I don't hear from them.
I was concentrating on the Tulsa, Oklahoma address.

This is from the Oct 54 SC and is probably the item mentioned in the post about an Ultramatic trainer.

got this from the Tulsa library,

"Attached is?a scan of an article I found about Technical Training Aids, Inc. in a publication called Tulsa Spirit (February 28, 1952). Unfortunately, we do not have an index to the Tulsa World or Tulsa Tribune prior to 1989. A couple of later articles mentions?that Burton-Rogers Inc. acquired Technical Training Aids in 1955 (becoming Burtek), and was later bought by Honeywell in 2007."
